For CPAs & Accounting Firms

I provide bookkeeping support to CPA firms and accounting professionals—catch-up work, ongoing client bookkeeping, and overflow support during busy periods.

My goal is to complement your services and make your engagements easier through accurate, well-organized books and clean handoffs.

How I Support Accounting Firms

I work with CPA firms in three primary ways:

Catch-Up & Cleanup Work

When clients arrive with incomplete or disorganized books, I handle the work to get records current and tax-ready.

Common scenarios:

  • New clients who haven’t maintained books properly
  • Year-end cleanup before tax preparation
  • Historical bookkeeping to resolve discrepancies
  • Post-acquisition or transition cleanup

What you receive: Clean, reconciled books with clear documentation and a detailed summary of corrections and adjustments.

Ongoing Bookkeeping for Referral Clients

For clients who need monthly bookkeeping support outside your firm’s core focus, I provide consistent, reliable service as a referral partner.

How this works:

  • I handle monthly transaction recording, reconciliations, and reporting
  • You retain the client relationship for tax and advisory work
  • Books are organized and ready when you need them
  • Clear handoffs and communication protocols established upfront

What you receive: Your clients receive dependable bookkeeping support, and you receive well-maintained books that make tax preparation and advisory work smoother.

Overflow & Busy Season Support

When capacity is tight—especially during tax season—I can handle bookkeeping work so your team can stay focused on higher-priority engagements.

Common scenarios:

  • Temporary capacity constraints during busy season
  • Staff transitions or unexpected absences
  • One-time projects requiring immediate attention
  • Clients needing more frequent support than your team can provide

What you receive: Reliable, professional work delivered on your timeline with minimal oversight required.

Why Work with Lund Bookkeeping

CPA-Level Standards

As a CPA, I understand the compliance requirements, documentation standards, and attention to detail that accounting professionals expect. Sloppy handoffs, missing documentation, and unexplained adjustments don’t happen.

Clean Handoffs

When I complete work for your clients, you receive:

  • Reconciled accounts with supporting documentation
  • Clear summaries of adjustments or corrections made
  • Organized records ready for tax preparation or review
  • Transparent communication about any issues or questions

Complement, Not Compete

I focus exclusively on bookkeeping and accounting support. I don’t prepare tax returns or provide advisory services. My role is to handle the monthly accounting work so you can focus on tax, planning, and advisory services where your expertise adds the most value.

Reliable & Professional

You can count on:

  • Work completed on schedule
  • Proactive communication about deadlines or issues
  • Professional confidentiality and discretion
  • Responsiveness when questions arise

What I Need from You

Clear communication at the outset helps ensure smooth collaboration. What’s most helpful:

  • Scope clarity: A clear understanding of deliverables, timeline, and any specific requirements or preferences
  • Access: Timely access to accounting software, bank accounts, and relevant client documentation
  • Communication protocols: Agreement on how we’ll communicate (email-first works well for most firms) and who the point of contact is
  • Feedback: If something isn’t working as expected, let me know so we can adjust

Pricing & Engagement Terms

Pricing is based on scope of work and complexity. For ongoing engagements, I typically bill monthly at a consistent rate. For one-off projects (catch-up work, cleanup, transitions), I provide a project-based quote after reviewing the situation.

Engagement terms are documented in a standard engagement letter. My goal is to keep things simple, professional, and transparent.

How Billing Works

For ongoing work: Invoiced monthly, typically at the beginning of each month for the prior month’s work.

For project work: Invoiced upon completion or on a milestone basis, depending on project size.

Getting Started

Initial Conversation

We’ll discuss your needs, the type of support you’re looking for, and whether the engagement is ongoing or project-based. This is also an opportunity to discuss pricing and logistics.

Scope Agreement

I’ll provide a proposal outlining scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing. Once we’re aligned, we’ll formalize the engagement with a standard engagement letter.

Setup & Access

I’ll gather necessary access (accounting software, bank feeds, etc.) and confirm communication protocols and deadlines.

Work & Delivery

I’ll complete the work on schedule and provide organized, well-documented books ready for your review or your client’s tax preparation.

Ongoing Relationships

Many working relationships with CPA firms start with a single project. If the engagement goes well and you have ongoing needs, we can transition to a steady monthly arrangement.

Common Questions

Do you work with clients directly or only through referrals?

Both. I’m happy to work as a referral partner where you maintain the client relationship, or I can work directly with clients you refer while keeping you informed and ensuring clean handoffs for tax season.

What accounting software do you support?

I primarily work with QuickBooks Online and Xero. I can also assist with transitions from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

How do you handle confidentiality?

All client information is kept strictly confidential. I follow the same professional standards you’d expect from any CPA, and confidentiality provisions are included in engagement letters.

What if we need support on short notice?

I do my best to accommodate urgent requests when capacity allows. The more advance notice, the better—but I understand that busy season and unexpected situations don’t always allow for that.

Can you handle industry-specific accounting?

I have experience across multiple industries. If your client operates in a highly specialized industry, we can discuss specifics during our initial conversation to ensure I’m the right fit
